Chemo I

Pumpzilla!

So today is the first day of chemo, and so far, Mark is doing great. We are about to leave the infusion center, and he's getting a chemo pump to wear for the next 46 hours or so. That was a bit unexpected, but the port he had put in on Monday certainly makes having the pump so much easier.

Let me also say that we are overwhelmed (in a positive way) by all of the gifts, donations, and well-wishes that have been directed his way. He's received cards, blankets, socks, a gas card, a classic coloring book and colored pencils, fabulous hand-drawn art, and even magnets (someone really knows him well!). With the diagnosis being changed to esophageal cancer last Friday, he was in need of some cheering up, and you all have delivered in a big way!

He has more tests to come on Monday, and we are waiting to be connected to a doc at Ohio State. Things are finally moving forward, and he is relieved to be starting treatment.

Again, we are eternally grateful to each of you for your support, and we are so thankful you have chosen to go on this journey with us. I'll update again after we get Monday's results back. :)
