Loudin’s legion origin story

Loudin's Legion Logo

Remember in the last post where I mentioned that something special having to do with Loudin's Legion was in the works? Well, everything is now ready, and we can share the news.

What is this Loudin's Legion thing, you ask? The term's history comes from Mark's old days in television. As a way to connect with his viewers, Mark would ask kids to send him pictures of their coloring book pages or other artwork, and older viewers could send him weather updates, news stories, or other sharable content, and they could get a frisbee or mini football signifying their membership in Loudin's Legion. Kind of like a mid-to-late 1980s version of Instagram, if you will. :)

Now, Loudin's Legion has been resurrected to help support the fantastic work being done at Rising Suns Non-Profit Pharmacy in Athens, OH. Initially, the idea behind this new version of Loudin's Legion was to have 100% of the profits from t-shirt, magnet, and sticker donations go to the pharmacy; however, Dr. Sarah Adkins, the pharmacy's founder, has asked that proceeds be available to help support Mark's cancer care, with excess funds then going to the pharmacy.

Because of the work of Jessica Makosky and Jessica Adams, we have the Loudin’s Legion website up and running.

And because of the extreme generosity of:

Steven Walkowski
Mahesh Yellemraju
Tracy and Mike Shaub
Joe and Amy Bianco
Jean and Chris Rettos
Bela Bhatt-Koshal and Vipin Koshal
Erin Murphy
Sarah Adkins
Dawn and Adam Graham

Office of Medical Education Technology (Mark’s work family), Office of Admissions (Jill’s work family), Athens Facilities Team (everyone’s family), 100% of proceeds will go directly to the cause.

Through the donations of everyone noted above, $7,408.38 was raised to cover the cost of all merchandise, the URL, and web hosting for the Loudin’s Legion web site, enabling all future donations to go directly to the cause!

Join the Legion we’ve all been building for years!
